For the first time 14th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations were held in Newyork. As we know, not everyone can travel to India but still many wish to be close to the nation. This is a step towards the same. It is an important platform for engagement of the Central and state governments with the Overseas Indian Community. This is an amazing effort by Indian Government to connect Indians living outside India. The event attracted almost 3500 people. NRI’s felt connected and were overwhelmed by Prime Minister Modi’s speech over a video.
