Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti (GSDS) had organized an exhibition on Pravasi Bharatiya Divas about Gandhi as a Pravasi. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is organized to commemorate the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa in Bombay on 9 January 1915. It also talks about the contribution of the overseas Indian community to the development of India.
We got more details from Geetha Shukla of GSDS. During the interview, she clearly states that people are inquisitive to know more about the Father of Nation and is overwhelming.
The organization was formed in September 1984 by the merger of Gandhi Darshan at Rajghat and Gandhi Smriti, and is functioning under the constructive advice and financial support from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The main aim and objective of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti is to propagate the life, mission and thought of Mahatma Gandhi through diverse socio-educational and cultural activities.
