The seventh annual Bollywood America dance competition went off without a hitch, with the collegiate team of Northwestern Anubhav emerging as tournament champions. The event was filled with great enthusiasm with top 11 Bollywood-fusion teams from around the country competing for the championship title in Cleveland, Ohio.
Northwestern’s Bollywood dance team Anubhav claimed the championship title at Bollywood America, marking the group’s third win in a national championship in the last four years. Northwestern Anubhav is NU's premier competitive Bollywood Fusion Dance Team. Anubhav has set their dance to storylines that showcase (South) Asian American history, identity, culture, and shed light on the complexities of the second-generation American (Desi) experience. The team fuses a variety of traditional, folk, and classical dance forms with modern styles such as contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop, and Bollywood which represent the diverse cultural, social, and dance backgrounds of their company members.
