Hopes & Smiles for children organized the annual East side champions volleyball tournament on 5th August in Redmond. It was a fundraiser event where all proceeds were donated to Seattle Children Cancer Research Institute. A similar event was held in 2016 and Hopes & Smiles team organized and raised $3000 for Seattle Children Cancer research institute to help children in need of cancer treatment. This institute is pioneering technology to eliminate cancer from children.
The event was a grand success with 14 teams participating in the all day tournament. Employees from companies like Microsoft, Amazon and many other were a part of this event taking the total participation above 100 individuals. Many womens and children also participated in the summer day event. The main aim of all participants and the organizing committee was to ensure maximum funds to be raised through this event for the folks in need at the Seattle Children Cancer research institute.
The idea is to benefit children who can’t afford to pursue their dreams. While there are many noble charities that are helping children pursue their dreams, Hopes and Smiles for children has a mission with objective to look for children who have a special talent, skill or interest and providing some direction and funding to nurture the talent thus helping these children pursue their dreams and see a brighter future.
