Here's a glimpse of the Gita Govinda performance event held in Chicago. It was a collaborative performance of multiple styles being brought together. The event was a grand success with renowed dancers participating and bring the stage alive. Next year in the spring season, a group production will be carried on Krishna with dance performers from India and US keeping the heritage alive and spread the beautiful art form among the younger generations.

The Gita Govinda (Song of Govinda) is a work composed by the 12th-century Indian poet, Jayadeva. It describes the relationship between Krishna and the gopis of Vrindavana, and in particular one gopi named Radha. The work delineates the love of Krishna for Radha, the milkmaid, his faithlessness and subsequent return to her, and is taken as symbolical of the human soul's straying from its true allegiance but returning at length to the God which created.
