Jyoti Kala Mandir organized its Annual Odissi dance celebration 'Rangoli' on Saturday 26th August 2017 in Milpitas, CA. The event showcased new items along with choreographies of Guru Jyoti Rout, performed by the junior to senior dancers of the institute. It also featured a special appearance by Guru Jyoti Rout.
Odissi dance is an ancient and classical art form which is deeply connected with traditional Indian culture. The traditions are practiced within Jyoti Kala Mandir and provide depth and integrity to the dance training. Jyoti Kala Mandir has brought worlds closer with two centers in India and the USA, encouraging a cross-cultural experience where Indian dancers and American dancers can mingle.
Jyoti Kala Mandir was established in 1993 by Guru Jyoti Rout and is a non-profit organization, which serves the international community. It represents the future for Indian Music, Dance and Mardala in US and India and its dedication is towards preserving and promoting India's most vibrant and classical music & dance.
