Here's a glimpse of the Bal Vikas program at Shri Sanheeswara Temple in New York City. The temple started the program for children so that they could be imparted spiritual learnings and the Hindu culture. Children between the age group 4-12 were a part of the program with a goal to learn about their faith, develop the values associated with being a good human being. Bal vikas teaches the children various values in the form of chanting of slokas, yoga, bhajans, service projects, story telling, meditation and many other.

The ideal of BalVikas is to raise a generation of boys and girls who have a clean and clear conscience. The actual material studied is not as important as the creation of an atmosphere where noble habits and ideals can grow and bear fruit. More and more parents from the community feel that every kid should be a part of Bal vikas program considering the learning's offered and children from the community get exposed to the Hindu cultural values developing knowledge that will guide them through their lives.
