The American Telugu Association, one of the oldest Indian American organization serving the interests of the ever-burgeoning Telugu community in the US, elected Parmesh Bheemreddy as its new president.
Bheemreddy was sworn in recently at a board meeting. Born in Pothireddypadu village of Nagarkurnool district of Telangana, Bheemreddy came to the US on a student visa to pursue higher education in computer science.
Being a software professional himself, he established a firm and helped many students and professionals from India to settle down in the US.
Bheemreddy is a well-known community volunteer, co-founder of Palamuru NRI forum and has conducted various charity activities across the district.
According to newsreports, Bhuvanesh Boojala from D.C. Metropolitan area was elected unanimously as the President-elect; Venu Sankineni as secretary; Sharath Vemula as joint secretary; Ravi Patlola as treasurer; and Arvind Muppidi as joint treasurer.
